Summer Outreach Program

Hand in Hand's volunteer-run Local Outreach Program will take place throughout the summer month in Kernersville, NC, and is open to participants ages 7 years to adult. Qualified participants receive basic water safety training with a volunteer American Red Cross certified instructor. Participants will learn the basics of survival swimming, including breath control and basic float, as well as water safety education for their parents and caregivers.*

This program is funded by the generous donations, sponsorships, and grants of individuals and businesses in the community.

*Please note that in order to build confidence in the water and learn more advanced skills such as a lifesaving swim-float-swim sequence and stroke techniques, participants should consider continuing their training after the two-week program with Safe Swim NC.
